Grave Marker

John passed away on June 30, 1986 due to heart failure at his long-time residence in Plymouth Meeting, PA. At the time of his passing, he was survived by his wife and 6 children. John is buried at St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont, PA.

 

His grave marker reads: John R. McNamara, 1st Lt. U.S. Army Air Corps, World War II, December 3, 1917 - June 30, 1986.

 

The brass flag holder is given to military service members who were discharged under honorable conditions during WWII. The eagle in wreath emblem is commonly referred to as the “Ruptured Duck”.
